Egg packing station
Egga Food’s egg packing station, classified as Higher Level by the International Featured Standards Food, can process and package up to 192,000 eggs per hour – making it one of the most efficient egg packing stations in Western Europe.
Egga Food’s ultra-modern egg packing station is completely automated, a necessity to provide both the highest possible speed and the most consistent level of quality. The eggs, sent to Ospel by certified poultry farmers from all over Europe, are screened by the ‘egg inspector’, who uses photography to check for significant cracks and dirt, after which any cracked eggs and dirt are removed. Subsequently, acoustics are used to check the eggs for hairline fractures, before they are weighed and sorted based on weight and quality. A packing machine then inserts the eggs into trays or boxes. We process quail eggs as well as barn, free-range, cage, and organic chicken eggs.
